# Generate video

POST /v1/videos/generations creates a durable asynchronous text-to-video or image-to-video job and returns HTTP 202.

Size aliases: 854x480 and 1280x720 are landscape; 480x854 and 720x1280 are portrait; 480x480 and 720x720 are square. The selected model receives the closest supported aspect ratio.

## Image-to-video

input_reference accepts an owned Byta Studio file_id, a public HTTP(S) image URL, or a base64 image data URI. JPEG, PNG, and WebP inputs up to 20 MiB are accepted. URL and data-URI inputs are imported into owned Studio storage.

## Poll and download

GET /v1/videos/generations/{jobId} every 2–5 seconds until completed or failed. Completed jobs include private videos[].url values. Fetch with the same Bearer key and use ?download=1 for attachment disposition.

## Errors and retries

Reuse the same Idempotency-Key after a timeout or transport failure. Common errors include unsupported_size, invalid_input_reference, unsafe_reference_url, invalid_reference_image, insufficient_credits, unsupported duration/resolution, unsupported aspect ratio, and model reference-limit errors.
