Getting started

Accounts, guest access, navigation, and the basic Byta workflow.

What can I do with Byta AI?

Byta AI combines image and video generation, creative Templates and Quick Remix, short dramas and video ads through Ads & Drama, realtime voice calls, AI Friends through Bytagram, text-to-speech, complete song generation, Chat, managed Research and Work, file-backed conversations, and a public developer API. Open Apps to choose a workspace. Generated media remains available through the relevant gallery or history view when the workflow supports it.

Can I try Byta AI without paying or entering a credit card?

Yes. Eligible new accounts start on Basic with 130 weekly credits indefinitely. Basic accounts can manually activate one 14-day Free Trial per account lifetime with 1,000 weekly credits, then return to Basic. No payment card is required. Purchased credits and paid plans remain available. Some guest limits are smaller than signed-in account limits. Creating a free account adds persistent chat history, galleries, account settings, billing controls, and access to the separate API Console.

Link to this answer
Where should I start?

Open Apps for the complete product directory. Choose Templates for a guided Remix, Images or Video for direct media creation, Ads & Drama for a short story or video ad, Call for a voice conversation, AI Friends for character discovery, Speech for voice generation, Song for music, or Chat for conversation, Research, file analysis, and completed deliverables. Each workspace includes the controls and estimates relevant to that workflow.

Why does Bytagram open on a different domain?

Bytagram is the dedicated social and private-conversation application for AI Friends. It runs at bytagram.com while using the same Byta AI account, plan, and credit balance through a secure sign-in handoff. Bytagram owns character profiles, communities, chats, relationship state, and private memories.

Credits and billing

Weekly credits, permanent credits, plans, reservations, and failed jobs.

What are credits?

Credits are the shared usage unit for Byta consumer apps. Image, video, Remix, Call, speech, song, chat, and Friends actions use the consumer account balance. Business API requests do not use these credits; they spend a separate prepaid USD API balance. Generation estimates and the Call rate shown in the product are authoritative.

Link to this answer
What is the difference between weekly credits and permanent credits?

Eligible new accounts start on Basic with 130 weekly credits indefinitely. Basic accounts can manually activate one 14-day Free Trial per account lifetime with 1,000 weekly credits, then return to Basic. No payment card is required. All standard plans refresh their recurring allowance every seven days from the account's allowance start time. Recurring credits are spent first and do not roll over. Permanent credits come from plan grants, bonuses, missions, vouchers, or credit-pack purchases; they currently do not expire and are spent after available recurring credits. Restricted accounts cannot claim this Free Trial and receive no recurring allowance. Any existing permanent credits remain usable.

Link to this answer
Why does a generation temporarily reserve credits?

Long-running media jobs reserve the estimated charge when the job is submitted. This prevents the same credits from being spent by another request while generation is running. After completion, Byta settles the actual charge. If the job fails before producing a valid saved output, the active reservation is released.

Link to this answer
What happens if an image or video job fails?

A failed job should appear as failed in history, and its active credit reservation should be released when no valid output was produced. If the browser times out or disconnects, first check Studio history because generation continues as an asynchronous job. Contact support with the approximate time and job or request ID if the job remains stuck or the balance does not recover.

Link to this answer
Can I buy credits without subscribing?

Yes. Permanent credit packs can be purchased separately. The purchase screen shows the current local currency, pack size, and final price before payment.

Link to this answer
How do I redeem a Byta voucher?

Sign in, open Settings, and choose Redeem voucher. A voucher may grant temporary plan access, permanent credits, or both, and each code can be redeemed only once. Plan vouchers cannot replace an active subscription, stack onto a current paid plan, or upgrade a Restricted account. If a valid code is rejected, contact Support privately without posting the code in a public channel.

Link to this answer
How do weekly, monthly, and annual plans differ?

Starter is a weekly-only plan: it renews every seven days and grants its included permanent credits at each weekly renewal. Pro, Scale, and Scale Max are available with monthly or annual billing. Annual billing is priced for a full year, includes the documented annual bonus, and continues granting the plan's monthly permanent-credit allowance according to the purchase schedule. Check Pricing for the current amounts and currencies.

03 / Help topic

Image generation

Prompts, references, models, ratios, batches, and saved results.

How do I generate an image?

Open Studio and select Images. Write a prompt, choose a model, choose the number of images and aspect ratio, then select Generate Images. The job is submitted immediately and continues in the background. Completed images appear in the output area, Gallery, and generation History.

Link to this answer
How should I write a useful image prompt?

State the subject first, then describe composition, environment, lighting, color, camera or illustration style, mood, and important exclusions. Put the requirements that must not change near the beginning. Use a reference image when visual continuity matters more than a longer textual description.

Link to this answer
Can I use more than one reference image?

The Studio image workflow can accept multiple selected references, up to the limit shown in the interface. The active model determines whether references are supported and how many can be used. References may come from a new upload or an existing Gallery item.

Link to this answer
Why do model prices differ?

Image models trade off speed, cost, reference support, inference options, and output quality. Current Studio image prices are fixed per request rather than multiplied by output count. Studio shows the current model description and estimated total before submission; that displayed estimate is authoritative.

Link to this answer
Where are generated images stored?

Completed images are saved to the account's Studio media history and Gallery when the workflow is signed in and supports persistence. Gallery items can be reviewed, downloaded, and selected as future references. Storage is subject to the account upload limit shown in the product.

Video generation

Short clips, duration, resolution, orientation, and async jobs.

How do I generate a video?

Open Studio and select Video. Describe the scene and motion, choose a model, duration, resolution, and orientation, then submit the job. Video generation runs asynchronously, so you can leave the page and return to History. The completed clip appears in the Studio output and Gallery.

Link to this answer
Which duration and resolution should I choose?

Use the shorter duration for a focused action or quicker iteration and the longer duration when a scene needs more development. Choose 480p for faster, lower-cost exploration and 720p when the selected model supports it and output quality matters more. Studio shows the current options and estimated cost.

Link to this answer
Can I create portrait or square video?

Yes. The video workflow includes landscape, portrait, and square orientations when supported by the selected model. Portrait works well for mobile-first social concepts, landscape for cinematic or presentation use, and square for flexible feeds.

Link to this answer
Why is my video still processing after I leave the page?

Video generation is a durable background job. Closing the tab, navigating away, or a temporary proxy timeout does not necessarily cancel it. Return to Studio History and look for the same job before submitting a duplicate request.

05 / Help topic

Templates and Remix

Discovery, Quick Remix, Studio handoff, references, and saved results.

What is the Templates workspace?

Templates opens /remix, where you can browse a localized image and video catalog, search, filter by medium or category, and preview examples. Signed-in users can Like templates and revisit personalized For You, Liked, and Viewed feeds. Ordinary catalog browsing and shareable template links do not require generation.

Link to this answer
How does Quick Remix work?

Open a template and choose Quick Remix. Add the reference inputs requested by that template from an upload or your Gallery, optionally add your own direction, confirm you have permission to use the supplied images, and review the credit estimate before creating. The accepted job continues in the background and saves its result to Studio Gallery.

Link to this answer
What is the difference between Quick Remix and Create in Studio?

Quick Remix keeps the required inputs and generation controls inside the template preview for the shortest path. Create in Studio opens the same template in Studio Smart mode, where Byta guides you through the direction and references before you review and submit. Merely opening Studio does not start a generation or charge credits.

Link to this answer
Why can’t I open or use an adult template?

Adult templates are available only on the website for signed-in adults who confirm an adult birth year and enable the saved content preference. They are unavailable in both the native Android and iOS apps. Every request and result remains subject to Byta’s safety rules.

Ads & Drama

Production modes, series planning, references, clips, editing, and export.

What can I make in Ads & Drama?

Ads & Drama opens the Episodes workspace at /episodes. Drama develops short stories with characters, continuity references, scene clips, editing, and final export. Ads develops video campaigns around a real product, audience, approved claims, brand references, visible proof, and a call to action. Each has its own series library and planning rules, while both keep scripts, media, and edits together in a saved project.

Link to this answer
How do Simple AI, Guided AI, and Manual modes differ?

Simple AI Mode helps turn a rough idea into a reviewable brief, shows the fixed package cost before starting, and runs a background job toward a final MP4. Guided AI Mode walks you through the series, script, references, clips, editing, and export. Manual Mode lets you set production details yourself. All three modes are available for Ads and Drama.

Link to this answer
What does the Series Bible do?

The Series Bible keeps the concept, language, visual style, tone, continuity rules, negative rules, and reusable character or object references together. New episode planning can use that saved context and prior episodes to preserve continuity without silently generating paid media.

Link to this answer
What does Smart Edit change?

Smart Edit can arrange clip order, transitions, titles or subtitles, visual accents, and soundtrack selection. Undo restores the state from before the latest Smart Edit when its snapshot is available. On desktop you can review the timeline before export; on phones and tablets Smart Edit uses a lighter workflow that continues to final rendering and then opens the result.

Link to this answer
What should I do if an Episodes job or export appears stuck?

Series creation, script writing, Simple AI Mode production, Smart Edit, clip generation, and final rendering use saved background jobs. Check the existing job report, series, Edit, Export, or Results state before submitting a duplicate. If it cannot recover, contact Support with the page or job URL, approximate time and timezone, and visible error.

Link to this answer
Why can generation cost less inside Episodes than in Studio?

Eligible images and videos submitted from an owned Episodes project may receive a workspace-specific promotional discount. The discounted estimate shown in Episodes is authoritative and applies only to that eligible Episodes request; do not assume the same discount applies to an ordinary Studio generation.

AI Friends and Bytagram

Discovery, character creation, memory, timing, media, and privacy.

How do I meet an AI Friend?

Open Bytagram and go to Discover. Browse or filter public characters by language, gender, personality traits, and interests. Open a profile or wall to understand the character, then start a private chat. A signed-in user has one visible conversation per character until that chat is reset or hidden.

Link to this answer
Why do Friends replies arrive in several bubbles or take time?

Bytagram is designed for human-paced conversation. It can collect a short burst of your messages, show seen, thinking, and typing phases, and deliver one to four meaningful bubbles. Natural response timing can be changed in Bytagram settings without disabling the composer.

Link to this answer
How do private memories work?

A character may suggest memory candidates based on your private conversation. Suggested memories remain inactive until you explicitly accept them. Accepted memories can inform future conversations with that character. They are not added to public character canon or shared with other users, and you can forget them later.

Link to this answer
Can I create my own AI character?

Yes. Signed-in Bytagram users can create and manage characters with a name, language, gender, role, biography, mood, status, personality traits, interests, opening message, behavior instructions, avatar, and public or private visibility. Public characters may be discoverable by other users.

Link to this answer
Can a Friend create a private image or video for me?

Private media generation is available only through an explicit request and confirmation flow. Bytagram shows the exact credit quote before you authorize the job. Private outputs are stored separately from Studio, require ownership checks to view, and are removed when the related chat is deleted or reset.

Link to this answer
Do purchases make an AI Friend like me more?

No. Purchases, plan level, credit balance, refunds, and billing events do not change relationship metrics. Familiarity, trust, warmth, tension, and related connection signals change only through interaction events and character behavior.

Call Byta

Voice conversation, connected-time credits, languages, camera privacy, and permissions.

How do I start a Call with Byta?

Sign in, open Call from Apps, choose a voice and either automatic language matching or a fixed language, then allow microphone access and select Start call. Realtime Call supports hands-free speech, typed messages, and an optional live transcript.

Link to this answer
How are Calls charged?

Calls use the consumer credit balance at the rate displayed before connection. Byta reserves connected time in bounded increments, settles the time used when the call ends, and releases unused reserved credits. A call cannot start or continue when no spendable credits remain.

Link to this answer
Does Byta continuously receive my camera video?

No. Camera video stays on your device. Byta receives one still frame only when you explicitly choose Share frame, or it receives an image that you deliberately attach. You can keep the camera off and use voice or text only.

Link to this answer
Why did my Call end or fail to start?

Check that Calls are available, you are signed in, microphone permission is allowed, the connection is stable, and the account has enough available credits. A session can last up to 30 connected minutes and may end after 3 minutes without meaningful activity. On mobile, update to the latest Byta app and review microphone or camera permission in device settings.

Android, iPhone, and iPad

Native app access, store purchases, restoration, downloads, and content visibility.

How do purchases work in the mobile apps?

Android digital purchases use Google Play, while iPhone and iPad purchases use Apple App Store billing. Plans and credit packs attach to the signed-in Byta account. Use Restore Purchases to relink an eligible store purchase, and manage or cancel a store subscription through the store where it was purchased.

Link to this answer
Why can’t I use the website checkout inside the iPhone or iPad app?

Digital goods inside the iOS and iPadOS app use Apple App Store billing. Web, crypto, FPX, GrabPay, Google Play, and other external checkout methods are not offered inside the Apple app. You can manage an Apple subscription through your App Store account.

Link to this answer
What should I do if a mobile download does not save?

Open the completed result or Gallery item and try the native save or share action again. Confirm the app has the needed Photos or storage permission and that the device has free space. If it still fails, contact Support with the device type, OS version, affected workspace, and visible error.

Speech and songs

Voice generation, languages, downloads, lyrics, and song variants.

How do I generate speech?

Open Speech, choose the spoken language, and write or paste the script. Select a speech model, voice, and speed, review the estimated charge, then generate. Completed speech appears in Recent Outputs and can be played or downloaded as an MP3.

Link to this answer
How is speech pricing calculated?

Speech pricing is based on the selected model and the number of billable text characters or tokens shown by the workspace. The estimate updates as the script changes. A minimum model charge may apply even when the script is short.

Link to this answer
How do I make a song?

Open Song and choose Create with AI or the manual workflow. The AI assistant can prepare lyrics, music style, or both from one idea and can suggest a title; manual creation lets you fill the fields directly. Choose vocals or instrumental, review the prepared title, lyrics, style, model, and credit estimate, then submit the music-generation request.

Link to this answer
How does Song Assistant treat lyrics or styles I already entered?

Preserve & fill keeps every completed title, lyrics, and style field unchanged and fills only what is missing. Reference & improve uses all completed fields as references and may rewrite them when that improves the song. Review the resulting fields before starting the separately billable song generation.

Link to this answer
Why did one song request create two tracks?

Byta song generation intentionally creates two variants from the same request. The variants let you compare different interpretations of the lyrics and style direction without writing the brief again. The request is charged once at the amount shown before generation.

Link to this answer
Can I publish and share a song?

Yes. A completed song can be published to a public, guest-friendly player with an opaque share link. Anyone with the link can play and download the song and view its lyrics and generation details. Published songs continue using account storage and are protected from automatic oldest-file cleanup until you delete them manually.

Chat and files

Chat, Research, Work, files, generated deliverables, history, and sharing.

What is the difference between Chat, Research, and Work?

Chat is for ordinary questions, writing, analysis, and choosing Auto or a specific chat model. Research automatically searches, verifies, compares, cites sources, and chooses a suitable depth. Work completes multi-step tasks with your files and aims to return a finished deliverable. Research and Work choose their managed model automatically rather than using the manual model selector.

Link to this answer
How do I choose a chat model?

Open the model menu at the top of Chat and compare the enabled options. Choose a faster model for lightweight drafting or a stronger reasoning model for difficult analysis. The available models, reasoning modes, web-search support, and credit behavior can change with the live model catalog.

Link to this answer
How do I chat with a file?

Drag a supported document, image, or data file into the chat composer, or select it through the attachment control. Chat, Research, and Work can extract bounded content from plain-text and code files, PDFs, DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX files. Scanned PDFs can use OCR for up to 25 pages. Ask a focused question; very large or complex files may need to be split.

Link to this answer
Which files can Research or Work create?

Every completed signed-in Research or Work response includes a validated downloadable artifact. Research offers Automatic, DOCX, PDF, or hosted HTML. Work offers Automatic, DOCX, XLSX, PDF, ZIP, or hosted HTML. Explicit requests can also produce Markdown, plain text, CSV, JSON, or a syntax-checked Python file. If the requested format cannot be validated, Byta may provide Markdown and mark the result as needing attention.

Link to this answer
What happens if Research or Work is interrupted?

Signed-in Research and Work runs are reconnectable. Leaving the page does not normally cancel them. If a service restart interrupts a run, Byta releases its active credit hold and shows Retry so you can start a fresh attempt with the same request and files; it does not silently submit a duplicate.

Link to this answer
What becomes public when I share a chat?

Anyone with the opaque link can read the complete saved conversation, including new messages later saved to that chat. Attachment filenames are visible, but the attached files themselves are not published by the shared-chat page. Review the entire conversation before sharing. Stop sharing disables the current link.

Link to this answer
How is a hosted HTML result different from a shared chat?

A hosted HTML result is a sanitized public deliverable with the expiration shown beside it; anyone with the link can view it until that time. It does not publish the surrounding chat. Other downloadable artifacts remain account-scoped unless you separately share them outside Byta.

Link to this answer
Why does a longer chat sometimes cost more?

Chat usage can grow with the amount of conversation context, attached material, selected model, reasoning mode, and optional web work. A new focused thread can be more efficient when an old conversation contains context that is no longer relevant.

12 / Help topic

Account, storage, and privacy

Settings, uploads, deletion, public content, and data handling.

Where can I change language and account preferences?

Open Settings from Apps or the product sidebar. Language changes are saved to the account or browser preference and synchronized to the Byta language cookie so server-rendered pages use the same locale. Settings also contains theme, profile, account controls, and links to the API Console and API documentation.

Link to this answer
What happens when my upload storage is full?

Uploads and generated media are subject to the current per-user storage limit. When necessary, Byta can remove the oldest unprotected uploads to make room. Published songs are excluded from automatic cleanup; if protected files prevent enough space from being reclaimed, the new upload fails until you delete files manually.

Link to this answer
Which content is public?

Private chats, ordinary uploads, Studio history, downloadable chat artifacts, and private Friends media are account-scoped by default. A shared chat exposes the full saved conversation and attachment filenames to anyone with its link, and a hosted HTML result is public until its displayed expiration. Songs become public when you choose Publish. Public Bytagram characters, profiles, walls, and posts are discoverable according to their visibility. Review the complete content before publishing or sharing.

Link to this answer
How do I delete my account?

Open Settings, find Delete account, and follow the permanent-deletion confirmation flow. Account deletion is destructive and can remove access to chats, uploads, generated media, billing history available only through the account, API access, and connected Bytagram data. Download anything you need before confirming.

Link to this answer
Why was my inactive Restricted account deactivated?

Byta may close a Restricted account after the configured period without activity. This is an account-closure decision, not a temporary pause, and password reset will not reopen it. If you believe the decision was made in error, use Create Support Ticket to request a human review; a review does not guarantee that the account will be reopened.

Link to this answer
How does Byta handle my data?

Byta uses technical, operational, and security controls to operate accounts, generation, storage, abuse prevention, billing, and support. Content may be processed by Byta and its service providers to provide and secure the services. Read the Privacy Policy for the authoritative categories, purposes, retention rules, and rights that apply.

13 / Help topic

API and troubleshooting

Keys, authentication, asynchronous generation, errors, and support.

How do I create a Byta API key?

Sign in to the API Console at api.byta-ai.com and open API keys. You can keep up to five named keys, optionally give each one a spending cap, and rotate or delete a key without editing it. Send the key as a Bearer token from your server. Never embed it in browser JavaScript, a public mobile bundle, a repository, screenshots, or support messages. Rotating a key immediately invalidates its previous value.

Link to this answer
Which formats does the API support?

The public API includes model discovery and endpoints for text generation, images, video, speech, music, and billing information. Media endpoints can use asynchronous job patterns and idempotency keys. Read the dedicated API documentation for current request fields, response shapes, status polling, and error codes.

Link to this answer
Why should I use an idempotency key?

An idempotency key identifies one logical generation request. If a network error makes the result uncertain, retrying with the same key lets Byta return or resume the same job instead of starting another billable generation. Reuse a key only for the exact same request.

Link to this answer
What should I include when reporting a problem?

Include the affected product, approximate time and timezone, page URL, visible error message, browser or device, and the job or request ID when available. Explain whether refreshing revealed the output and whether credits remained reserved. Do not send passwords, API keys, verification codes, cookies, or full payment details.

Link to this answer
How can I contact support?

Email [email protected] for account, billing, privacy, or technical support. Follow Byta on Telegram for product updates. Do not post private account details, API keys, payment information, or confidential files in public social channels.
